Verdict: A predictable storyline that suffered from lack of character development.
I thought the movie would be great as it's adopted from the Chinese classic story.
But the movie has a few flaws that failed to make the movie great:
i) It's a short story so this movie should include more episode
ii) The movie has lack of character development, we won't really know why is the person behaving like that
iii) The movie soundtrack is a wrong mixture of western and eastern culture - it is kind of western-styled and was repeatedly used in the movie.
iv) Some of the special effect reminds me of those featured in the Hong Kong drama series.
v) The movie is unnecessarily slow-paced in some parts.
One thing that my parents and my sister agreed was that, the main actors and actresses were look alike that it could be difficult for audience (especially western people) to differentiate.
Watch it only if you have nothing to do.
