I think few years ago, an ex-blogger mentioned that Marrybrown is nicer than KFC.
After reading that post, I only tried once when I was rushing - so I didn't manage to get the real taste.
In the past 2 months, I tried twice, I can confidently say, it tastes fresher and crispier than KFC Original.
Trying it is also in support of Malaysia's brand as it is really Made in Malaysia.
OK, this time, their tagline is ‘So Authentic. Even the Thais Want It’.
So I tried it like two weeks ago - it was the sweetest green curry I've ever tried in my life.
Thai green curry, in my opinion, is supposed to be spicy + slightly salty.
This KFC's case, the sweetness is like dominating 30% of the total taste, with 65% spiciness + 5% saltiness.
So my recommendation? If free, DIY to cook green curry chicken, on your own.
Your cooking will easily taste better than KFC - no joke.
Ok, I know this post is potentially a free ad for McD.
So this afternoon, I queued up like half an hour for the McD value lunch.
The reason was because of the latest hype in town - Prosperity Burger + curly fries
Am I Lovin' it? No.
Reason being:
1) You've gotta wait for the burger to be ready (very very high demand)
2) Because of high demand, it was a rushed product - the gravy wasn't enough to keep the burger juicy (I lost of words to elaborate, suddenly)
So, wait till the hype is over.
And as suggested by few persons, I shall not take McD for the next 3 weeks. (but there are KFC, Pizza Hut, Carl's Jr etc)
Not for these two weeks
Today I wanted to eat McDonald's meal as lunch.
But when I went out of my office, I thought about earth (sounds like talk cock, but McDonald's meal come with a lot of packaging that's not good for environment) I thought about my weight.
So, I had fried noodle.
It's a bit salty - I'll tell the uncle next time.
And yes, it's been two weeks since I last had McDonald's meal :)
After 6 hours, Carl's Jr Malaysia replied.
The director of operations replied me, and told me the burgers shortage was due to the delayed arrival of products shipment.

Hi Trevor,
We thank you for choosing to dine at Carl’s Jr for your dinner and can understand that the unavailability of our products is not exceptatable.
We apologized for the inconvenience caused to you and your friend during your visit at Carl’s Jr Mid Valley on 5th Aug’09.
We are not able to neither take down our menu nor close the restaurant but I agreed with you that we should have provided more information to our customers for the unfortunate circumstances due to our delayed arrival for products in the shipment.
Our sincere apology for your experience and assure you that we strive hard to improve in serving all our customers in all areas. Once again thank you and appreciate your valuable comments which will indeed help us improve further.

As a conclusion, I'm fine with their explanation (not many people would do that, especially in Malaysia)
And yah, I'm expecting a visit to Carl's Jr, soon :P
Yesterday my friend and I went to Gardens for GI Joe the movie.
We thought of eating Carl's Jr burgers because it's been a while we had this delicious burgers.
What happened was, having spending sometime waiting for my arrival and when we went to order, the cashier told us that no burgers were on sale.
And in fact, he told us that there were no burgers in all Carl's Jr branches in Malaysia.
Because of that, we had to settle with another restaurant, which subsequently made us late for the movie.
Feeling unsatisfied, I've written a complain letter to Carl's Jr Malaysia. Hoping that they are aware of this big joke.
Carl's Jr without burgers - they might as well close the shop.

Hi,
My name is Trevor.
I wish to call your attention to my encounter yesterday.
My friend and I chose to meet up at Carl's Jr Midvalley branch for dinner, before we head for movie.
My friend arrived early so he waited for me before we place the order.
However, when we placed our order, to our surprise, the cashier (we couldn't get the name, but he's in tall and big size) in charge told us that there's no burgers on sale. He added that, in fact, all the Carl's Jr branches in whole Malaysia do not have burger on sale - only fries and soft drinks were available.
We were flabbergasted.
By showing the menu - clearly on the board and at the counter - it simply means the burgers are on sale.
If there isn't any - the menu should be taken down.
And the best is if they could put a notice, telling people about the situation - or even consider to close the shop because there were no burgers for a restaurant that's famous with burgers!
Because the lack of information, my friend wasted the time in the restaurant, then only realised that we had to find another restaurant for our dinner (we can't just have fries for dinner, right?)
Subsequently, we were 5 minutes late for our movie.
The late for movie isn't the main issue here.
The important point was, we felt cheated and very disappointed with the misinformation given.
We hope something can be done so that such misinformation will not happen in the future.
Thanks.
Regards,
Trevor
Of McDonald's lunch selections, I tend to choose McChicken instead of others.
Reason being:
1) It's one of the cheapest
2) It uses lighter packaging as opposed to the example below:
That's not so environmental friendly isn't it - for people won't really care bout the packaging for this cheap lunch.
Or, should I take lesser McDonald's so that even lesser packaging will be consumed?
I found an item sold in fast food restaurant that isn't that unhealthy.
This chili is quite tasty & filling actually - except that it doesn't look nice (or in fact, it looks like vomited stuff)
And I was quite skeptical of the cup's slogan "High fiber, low fats"
I was like.. ok..
Then I Googled a bit, and found from its website that it's actually the lowest calories food you can have - at the same time make you full.
Nice.
Rating: 3.5/5
Finally had the chance to visit the Domino Pizza branch, newly opened at The Weld. (and thus, my quota of having two fast food meals per week had reached)
Well, it's a self-service restaurant so you can't comment much about the service.
My pizza arrived in 10 minutes, which is good and good thing is that, they don't charge govt tax & service tax (for I dined in)
Yesterday had a good meet up with Emily and L, along with my sister.
We met and had our dinner at Wendy's.
Again, Carl's Jr burger set is superior but Wendy's fries is still better than McDonald's.
It was an interesting chat, with two main conclusions:
1) L is a very good ghost story teller, I enjoyed it very much
2) There are strong indication that me and L are gay. Ek hem, yes, gay.
But both of us strongly denied it, of course.
And come on, who said having a bear means gay?
Last month was like... some record made.
I can both say I'm proud nor proud of it.
I've managed to do the Big Mac Chant 7 times, with the fastest being 3 seconds. (I'm supposed to finish it in 4 seconds)
And in that month itself, I've finished the 7 burgers
That would also means, I've purchased that amount of McValue, in order to be eligible to take part.
I'm not proud at all.
