Power of Dreams - remained as dreams.

This season of F1 was one of the most exciting in recent years.

Not only the scoring kept everybody tensed, it's also very interesting to know, the 'new' team Brawn GP got the World Drivers' Champion & Constructor Champion title in its debut year.

Brawn GP isn't new after all, it was renamed after Honda decided to withdraw from F1 sports 10 months ago.

Then the same team delivered, under different name.

So can I say, the power of dreams might just remain as dreams, sometimes?

Paddle pop, wow. Paddle pop, yay!

Ok. This is old news.

But I'd like to make a point here - F1 is a luxury sport, everyone knows that.

You'll need to invest more, to outperform others.

And sometimes, even if you invest a lot doesn't mean it'll end with good outcome (take Toyota F1 for example - invested a lot but still not the top team, yet)

So how could, 1Malaysia F1, achieve good results with no experience in F1 development (ok, they have, by getting the old & outdated Lotus team's technology) achieve good result in another half year? (that's when season 2010 will start)

So why put the name 1Malaysia? Most likely it will get the very poor positions in its first season - is it gonna put bad image on the '1Malaysia' name?

While I'm not criticising the car's choice of colour (it looks like Wall's Paddle Pop, to be honest) I'm even interested to know why 1Malaysia can't purchase an existing team (such as BMW, which Petronas is one of the sponsor, and they are leaving by the end of this year) - instead, putting in more money to build from scratch?

For budget of hundreds of millions (F1's budget cap is £40 million), can't Malaysia put those money into better investment such as infrastructure upgrade in the country, to help to achieve Vision 2020?

1Malaysia F1 won't help us achieving that vision, at least we know that.

For F1 Season 2008, I hope Lewis Hamilton will win.

He deserved it from every single percent of 100%.

I somehow kinda like this year's Honda F1 car.. a bit of retro look, and looks clean.

He is Best British Competition Driver, Best International Racing Driver and Rookie of the Year - the award presented by Autosport. 

When he talked about the lost to Kimi Raikonnen (by just one point), he mentioned:

"You have to lose to learn how to win. We'll be right there next year."

That's the quote of the year in F1 I reckon.

Bravo, Hamilton!

Congratulation!! FINALLY, this is the moment for you!

After Mclaren's appeal was over, Kimi is confirmed to be the WDC of F1 2007.

For many years, Kimi had been struggling to be a #1 - even he can drive fast + nice.

Now, finally, from the third possible WDC, he won the championship by just 1 points extra of Hamilton and Alonso.

Now this time, this the moment.

I saw him almost cried during the press conference.

It was a good race.

Ferrari is back! (Oh, can you imagine me saying this one year ago?)

I still like Lewis Hamilton - the ever confident driver, with charming smile and react like a star to the fans.

8th consecutive (top 3) poles and 8th podium finish- what more can you say about a rookie?

And BRAVO to KIMI! He's finally proving something to the Ferrari, that he can perform. So this is his third #1 in this year, definitely more than what he got in Mclaren last year -_-

By the way, the after race conference was stupid, IMHO

1) The guy asked Kimi - "do you know what's the difference of the car between this year and last year" - what you expect people to say?
2) Then the guy asked Alonso - do you know what's the difference between Mclaren and Ferrari that caused the Mclaren slowdown (somethg like that)

Kimi answered: I think it's the same
Alonso's answer was good(but quiet obvious that he was a bit speechless at first): "Erm, that's the thing we would like to know too, maybe it's the car setup"

That guy was on drug or what?

Again, big boooooooooooo to the national TV, luckily I have online TV that saved me. PHUCK THE TV2!

For whatever sake, they're gonna broadcast British F1 qualifying at 12am - 4 bloody hours after it starts.

So that's the national tv quality - or did Astro purposely made the national tv to do it?

Whatever it is, am not going to subscribe Astro just to watch F1.

And at least, last year, when 8TV was the one which broadcast F1 racings, it was rare to see the phucking delayed cast

Give the phucking F1 programme back to me!!!

I dare say this year is the most exciting, interesting and surprising F1 season ever, since I watch F1 in 2001.

Here are the ten reasons why:

1) Michael Schumacher had left F1 racing - which, of course, create a more equal opportunity for the racers

2) Lewis Hamilton! He created brand new record in F1, and of course, brings the super sensation in the F1 scene, which includes: first black to race, first (rookie) driver to finish on podium in the first three races, first youngest driver to lead the championship.

3) The racing team improvement are much more even (take BMW, Williams and Super Aguri for example)

4) Most interestingly, those cars that are using customer engines perform better than the main team. (Super Aguri had taken points while Honda hasn't, Williams had performed much better than the ever struggling Toyota)

5) We see some creative front wings design this year:

Mclaren's - which had proven to be quite effective since its introduction


Honda's - which was used only during the testing. Wtf? Like Jumbo only!

6) This season sees the experienced race like rookies and rookies race like the experienced one (pictures taken from BBC)

Kimi Raikonnen had (unfortunately) left for Ferrari. And this year, sees Mclaren, his previous team, becoming the strongest team in this season, ever.

What's more? He's struggling hard in the new car, learning the handling, the tyre etc etc. Correct me if i'm wrong, he had not done ANY significant overtake in this season, and most of the time see him unable to overtake. (Remember the Japanese GP in 2005? He finished #1 from #16)

And that's not all, his previous rival, Michael Schumacher, has been appearing in the Ferrari garage recently. What's more, rumour has it that, Michael will be handed a position in Ferrari (currently he's something like a consultant) My guess is that, he'll be technical director.

Psychologically (erm, will Kimi listen to Michael's, erm, advice? Plus, Michael has been giving advice to Massa, and Massa has been prudent), it's a big torture for Kimi.

I hate to say this but, I think he's jinxed.

Massa, on the other hand, has become the big brother in Ferrari. He's got the upper hand - Michael Schumacher is clearly giving him the support (actually I guess he would give one to Kimi, but well, will Kimi accept that..?) and the best thing is, Massa is keen to learn from this old man, er, I mean, expert.

Need to say more? Lewis has been creating new record in F1. He's a bit big headed, IMHO (in one of his first race, he said in the conference "I managed to trick him(a driver)" Then in the last Canadian GP, his take on Alonso challenge on his P1 - "I thought it's quite a good challenge"

But he's been extremely consistent since he raced, given that, this is his first year in F1 and there are a lot of experienced drivers on the field!

I'm actually sort of his fan now, just that, I really feel sorry for Kimi.

Alonso been a bit struggling in the new team. Like Kimi, he's trying to adapt to all the new things. But since Mclaren had given him a reliable car, he's performing a lot better than Kimi (note: Reliability is the super f***ing big issue with Mclaren in the past few years, and it's the main reason Kimi switched to Ferrari)



This Finnish, Heikki, is said to be a challenge to another Fin, Kimi. And he's been improving in Renault

Kubica has been performing since his debut last year. In the last Canadian GP, saw his car rolling like swiss roll. I'm glad that he's still have big possibilities to race later this weekend.

Nick is, and have to, perform well in BMW, I'm sure Kubica is one of the big reason that made him performing well. Now, he had just helped BMW to get a podium finish in Canadian GP, and now we can expect more from BMW.

TAKUMA SATO! He was marked as the dangerous drivers by Michale Schumacher when he was in Honda. But in the last GP (Canadian) HE WAS THE SUPER STAR OK!

First he overtook Ralf Schumacher (er, he claimed earlier on, in this year that, he's the 4th best driver in this season)

Then guess what, he overtook FERNANDO ALONSO, the two times world champion.

Need to say more? He initially signed the contract with Williams. He then regretted and got Honda to get him back.

Honda had help him to get the first podium last year, but that's all. Honda's been struggling very very hard this year, and even to its brother team - Super Aguri.

8) Canadian GP 2007 is the race that I'll never forget and I'll never regret of staying up late to watch. Lewis' first ever victory, Sato's overtaking action, 4 safety car sessions, accident-packed race(see below for Kubica's swiss-roll-like accident):

9) And guess what? Kubica only suffered sprained ankle! BRAVO TO THE SOLID BMW CAR

Ferrari had launched their new car for season 2007.

I think me and minahmin (ZhiMin a.k.a ZeeMin) still can't accept the cultural shock of the Ferrari - for different reason.

I still have weird feeling that Kimi joined a team that I've always been criticising (and till now I think they still deserve) while she's having hard time accepting the driver that she hates most (i.e. Kimi) joined the team that she loves most.

No matter what, let the race begin (still got months to go). And am sure this year is bound to be the best season in the last 7 years.
