That was my first job.

But in the past 7 years, I was able to re-use that knowledge in different job, to create tools to automate manual processes.

Recently I was tasked to automate some manual works, the objective is to have data keyed in, and the tool/application should generate a Gantt chart to clearly show the dependencies and timeline.

While it is definitely a challenging task to do, but I think if it is done, it will be my personal breakthru, too.

I feel blissful to have given the opportunity.

Something wonderful happened to me in the past 7 months.

New job, new environment and bumped into an interesting person.

Unfortunately timing was wrong for me to get to know that person further.

Actually from day 1 I knew the person would vanish.

Now everything is back to where it started. The person has vanished. I've learned the power of "source of inspiration"

It was a memorable roller coaster ride

It's almost a month in the new job.

I feel like a sponge: I learned a lot in the past one month

Most importantly, the job requires my all job experience in the past 7 years.

I couldn't be more grateful.

I shall do a checkpoint again in 5 months time.

Started new job this Monday.

Gotta wake up @ 6AM every morning - cos taking train to work nowadays.

I'm surprised that the KTM has improved - yes, longer coach means better passenger load la..

So ya, many ideas stuck in my brain, unblogged.

Wait till a day I'll unblock to blog.

To be frank, leaving a team of great people doesn't make me feel good.

But as a friend told me, you do what you think, and you deserve it.

So yes, I'm responsible for my choice, and since I've decided, I should be act responsibly.

Verdict: Great performance from all the actors + actress (with many of them, being first time acting), great presentation of Thailand's local music group. Great script writing to make this movie worth watching.

Many of us would have seen Thai advertisement - the funniness is no worse than HK or Japanese's humour.

Many of us would have seen Thai horror movie - many of us have perception of Thai movie = horror movie.

Try this movie - you will know that Thai movie industry is way beyond just horror movies.

In the past one year I have closer encounter with Thai people. So in a way, I would want to learn their language - the quickest way is to watch movie or listen to Thai music.

OK, back to the movie.

This movie tells how a group of young people, striving to succeed (hence 'suckseed') in the music competition.

I watched it with Jen and my dad.

All of us like it.

This comedy delivers what it should deliver.

I shared some same thoughts as my father:
i) The movie is all-rounded. It shows that Thai kids can act (the scene in the classroom - all the children acted naturally)
ii) The movie managed to introduced some Thai rock music groups - which, I believe, many of the non-Thai people won't know them before this movie.
iii) It is a movie with proper ending (many of the movies nowadays have 'strange ending', which you won't know what is it trying to say)

My personal view: I like how the movie shows the atmosphere when you listen to music - it really feels like someone is beside you, talking to you about how you feel.

The beginning part of the movie, which talked about their childhood - reminds me of Fan Chan, another well delivered movie.

As the walkman generation evolved into discman generation - then into iPod generation (yep, the evolution is 'subconsciously' shown in the movie): people grew up and have chosen different path to move forward.

I'll repeat what I had just mentioned earlier: By watching this movie, you will understand that why Thai people can produce funny advertisement, and their movie industries are definitely more than just horror movies.

I would definitely invite all of my friends to watch this movies.

More like, a lesson of the day - I'm reading an article about people management, and found this interesting, especially for my work:

So of those pre-review activities - a lot of observation, a lot of findings.

But all I can say is that these people should have come years ago, not before the aud it.

What they are doing now seems like they're helping us.

But in reality, it merely looks like they're doing damage control.

There are 5 things that have been bothering me lately.

Of 2 are career related
1 is the Gunung Tahan trip - I still have doubt if I can tahan during that time
1 is a family matter
1 is a personal matter.

Call me crazy or what, I've been putting a lot of priority (i.e. 優先權） on the personal matter.

A lot needs to be done.

不過，我只能說，此時此刻，心情踏實了很多。

You wouldn't wanna know how much stresses I've been going thru in the past one month.

Apart from the first 4 months of stresses I had experienced when I started this job - this past one month, and I guess, the coming 2 months' stresses will be mega.

Whatever it is, work is work.

I'm glad that there is life after work - though it isn't long, but I still appreciate the moment that I have, i.e. to chat with someone that I feel... interesting.

When motivation is down,
The positive Aura will leave.

I need positive Aura,
So I'll need to bring up my motivation, with some other things.

This is the part that everybody hate most:

When higher management makes decision,

they would often assume that things are in perfect world.

Often the decision made, is not aligned with reality - such as employee's real life working experience.

Then the employee will force to work towards that culture, and stay numb until they think it's no longer a problem.

But so much time were spent on unnecessary things, such as searching information.

Conclusion: It's hard to convince them, unless they really come down and feel the reality at the level.

At least I've done my part in understanding the employees, and work out a solution accordingly.

The idea you mentioned might be interpreted as 'trying to challenge the current culture.'

Time was spent on the improvement plans needed.

Was tabled but not appreciated.

But rather, spending time in meeting discussing issues that are actually not the root cause?

Time was spent, health deteriorated.

Heart is tired, mouth has to be zipped.

Sometimes when good ideas are being banned for individual's interest,

It would mean the loss of trust, and next, the loss of employee.

And more than often, how many times when you feel the pain of higher management's decision?

One decision can change the way you work, drastically.

This is the time when people like us need to highlight, and provide the alternative/solution.

If still not accepted, next is to find someone who would.

Call me superstitious, but I felt today's daily horoscope is very accurate - no wonder I suddenly have the omphhhh feeling (even before I read it) to complete my tasks and got my thinking a bit clearer.

This is a good time to think about where you're going and what you want to do. Your ability to tune in to your future possibilities is definitely enhanced now. If it's appropriate, share your vision with those who believe are supportive of your plans.

A few friends talked to me lately about their job interviews.

Then I gave them some opinions, that I think it's a bit interesting to share:

1) When you go for job interview, take it as "the company needs your help/skill/experience to do the job" not because "you need the job, without it, you have no other options"

2) Being landed a job is like creating a win-win situation: the company gives you a good environment, good salary, so that you are motivated to help the company to grow.

3) (This is applicable if only you think you have good working attitude) One of your selling point could be your working attitude, that's the reason why you are worth the higher salary, and of course, worth for the company.

4) You can try to relate your previous job experience, and then, relate to the current job - tell them that your past experience is not in vain - they help you to be experience enough/suitable for this new job

5) Without having mutual understanding of the above 4 points, you can roughly tell that the company won't appreciate you - so you should go for the company that appreciates you. (i.e. that can have mutual understanding of the above 4 points)

I listen to Hitz FM's Gotcha Call everyday, on my way to work.

And I feel that Ean is really talented.

He's able to speak English in all kind of accent - Indian, Australian, New Zealand, American, British, Malaysian and today - South African.

OMG, he's simply talented, period.
