In the past 2 weeks, I didn't really commit to video editing - reason is simple, it crashes way too often.

First I thought it was due to the version - so I updated to the latest version.

Still, it crashes like joy.

Then I thought it's the laptop's video card driver - updated to the latest version as well.

Crashing is still in its blood.

So I asked my friend Google. It seems the problem lies with my Sony Text Generator and also Media Generator.

Which is true - it was prone to crash whenever I generated a text or blank black media.

So the solution

1) Right click on the vegas110.exe (You can find it under: Program files -> Sony -> Vegas Pro 11.0)
2) Select Properties
3) Make sure the settings are set to those highlighted as follow:

4) Hit OK when all were set.

So running in compatibility mode for Windows 7 did the trick.

I don't know why but at least it works and I was able to finish some work last night.

One thing I noticed though, is that Vegas is now running slower than usual.

But I believe Sony team won't be releasing any more update, as they are focusing on Vegas Pro 12 instead.

A few friends talked to me lately about their job interviews.

Then I gave them some opinions, that I think it's a bit interesting to share:

1) When you go for job interview, take it as "the company needs your help/skill/experience to do the job" not because "you need the job, without it, you have no other options"

2) Being landed a job is like creating a win-win situation: the company gives you a good environment, good salary, so that you are motivated to help the company to grow.

3) (This is applicable if only you think you have good working attitude) One of your selling point could be your working attitude, that's the reason why you are worth the higher salary, and of course, worth for the company.

4) You can try to relate your previous job experience, and then, relate to the current job - tell them that your past experience is not in vain - they help you to be experience enough/suitable for this new job

5) Without having mutual understanding of the above 4 points, you can roughly tell that the company won't appreciate you - so you should go for the company that appreciates you. (i.e. that can have mutual understanding of the above 4 points)

I'm not talking bout chauffeur. :-)

Earlier on, I tried install an unknown device for a device called: Intel(R) 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Controller - 27B8

on the Asus P5QPL-VM motherboard

I searched everywhere but can't find the right driver, even from the Asus website.

End up, one article suggested to try the driver DVD came with the motherboard.

And it worked -_-

Problem: You have two monitors connected to one computer, you want to open the Excel file in two different Windows, so that you can view on each monitor respectively. But when you double click the Excel files, it can only open in single Window.

Solution: You'll have to open two Excel instances (Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Excel) then in each instance, you Open the excel you want, separately.
