Verdict: Kids will find this movie fun to watch - for adult, just watch for fun :-)

It's kinda fun to watch this movie - the alien, their technology (although just some small time show off) - but it is not as grand as what it's shown in the poster.

It's cool to see The Rock had made full use of his acting talent, from wrestling into the real movie acting.

A decent movie to watch, but expect no more.

Rating: 6/10

While I was taking a rest on the chair, the hostel owner, a Malaysian, approached me.

He asked where do I come from - I said I'm from KL.

He said "Oh, KL, a lot of mess going on - protest and caused big impact on the economy. I don't understand why - because the government had already given freedom to access internet, they can voice out in internet - why chose to protest?"

I didn't counter his comment, I just smiled.

From that statement, we can know few facts:

1) The current government had clearly made full use of the traditional media to brain-wash the citizen who has limited access to the internet.

Peaceful rally, if it's well organised, will definitely not cause big impact on the economy.

Instead, if it's well handled, the people who came into town, could even spend in the town after the rally.

And instead, what we learned is that the police force used all kind of measure to stop this rally.

So who's the culprit here?

2) Internet is definitely not the place for freedom of speech - this country still has 'law', such as sedition law to control the so called 'freedom of speech'.

I'm not sure what would happen for the General Election # 13, it could be similar like Thailand - where people in city centre voted out Thaksin, but in rural area, where they have limited access to information, would vote Thaksin, probably as a result of some "brain-wash" activity.

But of course, I hope for a country which will not rule by race, but rule by citizenship.

Again, it's isn't easy to achieve that. The fact is, the three major descendants (more appropriate than 'race'?) are still very stubborn to maintain their own legacy, everybody is waiting for others to make the first move, everybody is trying to be the first to cry out "That's not fair to us" rather than "That's good for all of us"

Sad but true.

Lately I heard this song from radio as well as from my colleague's pc ;)

This two-year old song, it sounds sad (both the melody and the MV) but somehow I feel that it carries some positive message too.

I saw this trailer two weeks ago - me and my sister got the goose bumps, and yeah, another half year to wait is way too long!

It's always nice to see Tim Burton's creativity and his skill to turn fantasy into 'reality' (movie)

Can't wait till March 2010!

I got the first bill after my dad's and sis' phone become my supplementary lines.

So the bill was quite confusing. (and it still is)

But I found that they didn't include my sis' bill as itemised - but they did for my dad's.

So I called up, and customer service said it could be due to when they convert from Digi to Maxis (my sis was a Digi subscriber) they didn't setup the itemised billing.

They will send the hardcopy of the itemised billing, but at the cost of RM5.

Initially I asked for softcopy but they said they don't have this option.

So RM5 is still needed for the itemised billing record.

In the end, I told him that "it's not my fault for not having the itemised billing set up.

First the customer service didn't ask for my opinion on whether to activate this option.
Secondly I'm not gonna pay for your mistake for not setting up the itemised billing."

End of the day, I got:
1) Itemised billing record (for my sister) to be mailed to me free of charge
2) Itemised billing setup for the next cycle onwards.

And for this, my sis only told me "good boy"

Yah, I saw no difference with "good dog"

But at the end of the day, it feels nice to fight for the rights - for I'm quite a soft person :P

This morning I had a dream - I went to Finland to visit Ronnie.

Ronnie brought me to his soon-to-be new house.

It's a three stories house and the seller (happens to be his colleague) was also selling along with the BMW X1.

I was wondering at that time - how did Ron get so much money to buy such a cool stuff - he must have been doing good in same investment.

Reality check: In the past few days I was thinking bout doing some investment - which I've no idea how to go about it at all.

But I do know if the investment is doing good, I can afford better things like what I dreamed.

Verdict: Unnecessarily gory & disgusting however provided some gripping moment.

The horror movie that has gotta do with Wes Craven seems to have gory,disgusting and violent element.

So this remake of his own movie back in the 70's is no exception.

There were some gripping moments and made you feel helpless for the victims in the movie - but nothing much.

It's all about being bad person and revenge - in bloody and brutal way.

You may choose not to have lunch before or after watching this :P

Actually this trip was relaxing.

There were few hours when there's no activity, I just sat on the chair, looking at the sky in the kampung-feel place - thinking & doing nothing.

Sometimes, you don't have to do something to get something.

Yeah, this time, I did nothing but I gained the relaxing part.

Well, guess what - I didn't go for this trip, this time.

Reason being I could feel that there's not much of interesting things in this trip.

And that it's in an ancient jungle - I could go wild.

Most importantly - it doesn't give me the achievement feel like the previous KK trip:

Since yesterday, the day has been like this.

Which is good because the rain can reduce the haze in the air (which causes flu everywhere)
and gives the refreshing feeling that's much needed.

So what makes them thinking that a transition needs 6 months to happen?

What about my current transition - which was 2 weeks notice, and merely 1 day transition - strictly speaking?

This is a big organisation - yet you have so many workforce issues - On what are you trying to sell?

On what can you sell?

Yes headcount is a cost - but if you stress people - talented people will leave - it is a greater lost.

If you think we are contributing high cost to the company - very simple, once we find the job, we will leave.

We leave because we don't agree with this company anymore.

We leave because you don't care about employee anymore.

We leave because you treat employee as cost, not asset.

Maybe that should be the target number of posts for this year.

But I'll do a reality check, during the end of September :-)

Btw, 555 notebook is a nostalgic item during my primary school time.

Verdict: Feels like a movie version of soap drama

You can have the element of soap drama from this movie - suspense, romance, lies, secret, humour.

This movie tells about a couple who are both business spies - who are in love with each other.

It's a type of movie you can watch to pass time - but at the end of the day, you may not wanna watch again.

Just like the soap drama :)

Verdict: Skip this if you can

With high expectation on this movie, with the branding of playboy, I thought this sex comedy will be as funny as American Pie 1, 2, 3.

But that's not the case.

There's not much you can expect from movie, not much of message, a lot of talking and I was quite bored.

So, skip this if you can.

Rating: 2/10

Verdict: Unnecessarily violent.

This movie tells bout a group of illegal emigrant from China, working in Japan.

Somehow, they got the chance to raise up as the triad and found the way of earning big money.

The story is easy to understand.

Unfortunately, I felt that Jackie Chan should stop filming this kind of movie - he's trying too much to be a good guy everytime.

Good guy as the head of gangster? That sounds interesting. Very interesting.

And there's some corny romance scene as well - flirting whille driving a tractor.

For those unnecessarily violent scene - like hand being chopped off - I'm not sure if Hong Kong movie is trying to have the Hollywood grade of violent scene as well.

Watch it if you love this kind of movie :)

Verdict: (Japanesely) Funny and interesting

This movie talks about an innocent man (Takeshi Kaneshiro) who ended up had to become a ninja-like person to prove that he's not K-20.

It happened on an alternative timeline where you can see heavy German influence in this movie :)

It's fun to see this movie - a combination of comic & drama blend.

Rating: 7.5/10

I'm currently in the car service centre.

This time will involve the aircon maintenence, hence it will take total of 3 hours and cost RM500

Just back from the trip.

Quite exhausted but the trip was ok.

On my way home, my dad told me his experience back in Taman Negara.

He stayed overnight at the watch tower and was able to see animals.

"Just randomly aim your torch light everywhere - and different animal's eyes will reflect different colours", he said.

He added that the experience of being "surrounded by animal sound at night is unforgettable"

Knowing that i stayed in aircon hostel and heard no animal sound at night, with no leeches, he asked me

"Then why u went to taman negara?"

I bought this Mosi-guard wasn't because I'm scared of the mosquito bites.

It's because of an interesting advertising it gave.


Yah, it's so called "leeches repellent" as well.

I Googled it and it seems to be true. Some users said the same thing too.

So here's my plan to test it:

1) Tonight I'll apply this repellent before I go to bed, with my bedroom doors wide-opened.
(the idea is, if it can't repel the mosquito, please don't talk about leeches)

2) I plan to wear shorts for the trip, while constantly spray with this repellent (idea scrapped due to the possibilities of having snake, bushes scratch etc)

This product has better be working, because it cost me RM28!!!!!

I'm currently watching this one.

With a lot of parody + reference to James Bond - my favorite movie series - and plus the Japanese way of making the silly joke, it's nice.

I chose to skip this one since Tuesday.

Initially it's quite funny and personally, I thought it's a good stress buster.

However, the story seems like going nowhere after the war had started in the series.

Skipped. And looking forward to 古靈精探B

Imagine you have a forum, a sites that publishes the articles, but their search engine isn't that great.

Good news is, Google will most likely have indexed those (popular) sites.

So how to search?

Challenge: I want to search for "That's not my name" (by Ting Tings, and for 24 hours demo listen purpose).

But Google results gave me crap - with mostly results from "rapidlibrary.com" that doesn't provide full link

However: I do know some collection sites such as taringa.net, freshwap.net, rlslog.net. But some needs registration which I'm pretty lazy to do so (then probably you should remain lazy)

Solution:

Use Google site search.

Use the following keywords in Google:

Verdict: Interesting at certain points, but isn't as good as Boss

Despite the drama superstar Kimura Takuya as the leading actor, the show was overall a funny show mixed with some (potential) social issue.

Clearly, Kimura lacks the charisma he had last time, in the show such as "Long Vacation"

It's fun to watch but sometimes it's quite draggy.

Rating: 6.5/10

Verdict: Witty and interesting to watch.

This drama talks about a police department that investigate the strange murdered cases.

With members equipped with different (strange) talents, the boss was able to lead the team which could perform.

Suspense were given at right time to keep the show interesting to watch..

The ending was a bomb, quite illogical but it's a funny and informative show to watch :-)

Yesterday my friend and I went to Gardens for GI Joe the movie.

We thought of eating Carl's Jr burgers because it's been a while we had this delicious burgers.

What happened was, having spending sometime waiting for my arrival and when we went to order, the cashier told us that no burgers were on sale.

And in fact, he told us that there were no burgers in all Carl's Jr branches in Malaysia.

Because of that, we had to settle with another restaurant, which subsequently made us late for the movie.

Feeling unsatisfied, I've written a complain letter to Carl's Jr Malaysia. Hoping that they are aware of this big joke.

Carl's Jr without burgers - they might as well close the shop.

I wish to call your attention to my encounter yesterday.

My friend and I chose to meet up at Carl's Jr Midvalley branch for dinner, before we head for movie.

My friend arrived early so he waited for me before we place the order.

However, when we placed our order, to our surprise, the cashier (we couldn't get the name, but he's in tall and big size) in charge told us that there's no burgers on sale. He added that, in fact, all the Carl's Jr branches in whole Malaysia do not have burger on sale - only fries and soft drinks were available.

We were flabbergasted.

By showing the menu - clearly on the board and at the counter - it simply means the burgers are on sale.

If there isn't any - the menu should be taken down.

And the best is if they could put a notice, telling people about the situation - or even consider to close the shop because there were no burgers for a restaurant that's famous with burgers!

Because the lack of information, my friend wasted the time in the restaurant, then only realised that we had to find another restaurant for our dinner (we can't just have fries for dinner, right?)

Subsequently, we were 5 minutes late for our movie.

The late for movie isn't the main issue here.

The important point was, we felt cheated and very disappointed with the misinformation given.

We hope something can be done so that such misinformation will not happen in the future.

I've stopped watching this new TV series about two weeks ago.

It talks more bout love conflict rather than how the firemen save the day.

And the love conflict part is really annoying.

Plus Wong Hei was missing for more than a week of episodes, because he was in coma. bla bla bla.

What a lame series. What a bad sequel for a good series.

And I'm not gonna rate this since I've stopped watching.

Verdict: Action-packed from the start till the end. Illogical but acceptable.

I watched this movie because of the movie director - Stephen Sommers. Because of his previous movies (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns & Van Helsing) I watched with high expectation.

This movie lived up the expectation.

Despite there's some logical issue in the movie (such as, how the people survive from all the shootings, bombings. Low security in both GI Joe & Cobra HQ etc) the back to back actions didn't allow me to think much about it.

This G.I. Joe is not the original G.I. Joe cartoon that I watched when I was small - which they use conventional weapons.

High-tech weapons were used in the movie - not in a cheesy & overused way.

There were too many characters to be introduced in this movie, but the director handled well and was able to deliver the message - this reminds me of another movie Star Trek, which the director did a good job in introducing many characters too.

Fun, high tech weapon & back to back action - reminds me of Iron Man & Star Trek too.

However, the extensive use of computer graphic (with the current technology) means there were still some parts that didn't look quite realistic.

But it's the idea that counts.

I thought the director did a good job, for turning the comic/animation into the film - creating another league of its own.

Rating: 7.5/10

P/S: I'll definitely watch this movie again, because I missed the first 5 minutes of the show, for some reason!! $!$#@!%!%! It's a RM20 movie some more !@#!#%!

Siao "on"

English meaning： Siao literally means "Crazy" in Hokkien. On, is the English word. Means you're up for something.

Actual meaning is: You agree to whatever plan that's coming to you.

Example #1: I'm siao "on" for the movie tonight, for RM20 at a slightly above normal cinema (GSC Signature)

Example #2: I'm siao "on" for the movie tonight, starting at 11.20PM, for the sake of watching the movie on the 1st day release.

Finally, two weeks ago, I've helped my dad and sis to join the Maxis Family Plus plan.

That means every month I'll have to pay minimum RM140. (RM80 + RM30 + RM30)

But I think it'll be a saving because:

1) My dad was using Maxis prepaid, with monthly commitment > RM30
2) My sis was using Digi Postpaid RM50 plan, which would exceed RM100 monthly

With the RM80 plan that I have, the call & text rate is better than any of the two plans mentioned above.

Plus we'll have free call & text between the family members.

This is a cut-cost measure, I guess?

Let's hope it'll be good.

It's been a while since I last visited there.

有一天（On 18/7/2009）, 我心血來潮，騎著去趕集 asked Ian and Emily to go there.

We used the Ampang Elevated Highway (AKLEH) to get there - it's a lot faster than using MRRII.


So, the food was so so (@ Bread & Olive) , fries was ok. Next time I'll try the pizza (heard that it's the only item that's good)

Yesterday, I dreamed that Weihan and I were at a space research centre.

There's this space simulation room - where the participants can do spacewalk in the vacuum and floating style.

Weihan asked me if I wanna tag along. I agreed and we opened the door.

He went in first (the room was bright) and suddenly, my colleague called me from behind.

She asked me to help her to fix something.

The door was automatically closed. There an indicator above the door which reads "Operation in progress" (hahahahaha)

I tried to open the door, it was dark inside and with a lot of air being sucked into the room(vacuum condition). I had no choice but to close the door.

What happened was, roughly after 10 minutes, the operation was completed and the door was automatically opened.

I saw Weihan crawling out from the room, exhausted and he said "No next time"

My only clue of having the dream was, two days ago, I was suddenly asked to help a colleague on some issue when I walked into her workstation area.

Her comment was (she was on the phone trying to get help) "Oh nvm, Trevor is here" while I was just a passerby.

End up, I had to help.

As for why Weihan was suffering in the dream... I don't know.

LOL!

Earlier me and my family went to this restaurant, newly opened near my house.

Heard that the noodle is good and the business is good as well.


My wanton mee.

Verdict? The noodle was nice, but I'm not sure if it's vegetable or soup - it had chlorine smell (ew...)

So, I'm sorry but:

I find this product quite useful.

Whenever there's an acne on my face, I'll just put a patch before I sleep.

The next day, the affected area will be shrunk, and I woud be able to see the patch sucked out some whitish stuff.

Disgusting but effective.

I think the TV station was trying the luck to see if Malaysian citizen will say 'yah, it caused the traffic jam bla bla bla"

But they are owned!

And the fact is - it's not the street rallies that caused the inconveniences.

It is the police who not only failed to facilitate, and instead used water cannon, chemical spray, tearing gas on the participants as well as performing road blocks on main roads - that caused the inconveniences here and there!

There are three movies I'm looking forward to, in this month.



Up: It gets a very good rating (97%) on RottenTomatoes. I really wonder what took it so long to reach Malaysia. (the US release was in end of May)

Perhaps Disney ships the film copy with balloons.



G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra: Initially I thought it's just another B-movie - after all it's a different version from the original G.I. Joe cartoon that I watched when I was small.

However, after knowing it's directed by Stephen Sommers, I hope that he can deliver the same quality as his two films.(He directed The Mummy and Van Helsing)



District 9: Produced by Peter Jackson, I know I'm gonna watch this film, after watching the original short film (Alive in Joburg) by the same director.

Other facts that you should know about this film:
1) It's filmed in sort of documentary style.
2) The alien 'invasion' didn't happen in the United States, instaed, it's in South Africa.

That is something really new and refreshing.

My friends said that I've become quite sarcastic nowadays.

Probably have to thank my friend Justin, who is the guru in sarcasm.

One thing that's really enjoyable when you do sarcasm is when you see the reaction from people - they could be speechless, maybe due to the fact that they know they are wrong or they have to agree with you because they were shocked... etc

Bottom line: Mild usage of sarcasm adds fun in conversation.

I came across this article not long ago.

It talked about Netscape's plan to release an operating system called Netscape Constellation - a browser aim for internet, which gives the internet application function as well.

The article was dated March, 1997.

Since then, Netscape's browser market share had fallen drastically to Microsoft's IE.

And then, the plan for the OS was never heard.

12 years later, Google announced Chrome OS.

This time there were a lot of support from hardware manufacturers, users etc. Some even forecast that it could threaten Microsoft's Windows platform (as internet application is taking the trend now)

Well, that's really a wrong timing for Netscape.

Sunday night, I had to work.

While waiting for some automated task to be completed, I went to have a stroll.

Saw a beautiful view KL tower from an angle I've never noticed.

Maybe I've not worked this late.
Maybe I seldom look at the things around me.

Whatever it is, while I was taking photo, a passerby reminded me to be careful - cos that alley I was in, was indeed a dark alley.

Which I had my new car's window crashed by thief.

"Once bitten, twice shy" didn't quite apply on me this time, it seems.

Had a chance last Friday to have a glimpse on the new Nokia E72.

My thought? While it has twice faster the processor speed, larger memory space and 5MP camera with flash, 3.5mm audio jack...

It didn't give the 'wow' feeling (that gives with E71)

But again, if it could sell at the same price as E71, I'm sure it'll sell like a hot cake.

I'm not talking bout chauffeur. :-)

Earlier on, I tried install an unknown device for a device called: Intel(R) 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Controller - 27B8

on the Asus P5QPL-VM motherboard

I searched everywhere but can't find the right driver, even from the Asus website.

End up, one article suggested to try the driver DVD came with the motherboard.

And it worked -_-

I bought this pendrive yesterday - reason being its capless and solid design.

However, the U3 application comes with the pendrive is not what I need - and I can't seem to remove it (even formatting won't help)

Hence, DSK-ed and found the application from U3, to remove it affectively:

Her Japanese songs are good - not for the following + recently English songs.



Come Back to Me gets quite a frequent airplay on local FM - Mix FM.

I don't like the song. The music sounds very Mariah Carey and the lyrics are cheesy and corny.


For Sanctuary - it's worse. The original Japanese version, "Passion" sounds way better.

I don't know why she wants to sing an English version.

For the money, I guess.

So after feeling satisfied with yesterday's result, KY gave me the idea of taking the photo in black and white effect.

When I talked about Emily's wig with sis, she said she got a lot of unused wigs.

So I decided to borrow from her...


Not quite 60's... but it's almost there.


This looks more 60's - it'll be better if my 'hair' is black.

Today is an emotional day for Malaysia.

Over 20 thousands of people gathered in Kuala Lumpur to rally for abolishment of ISA

What happened was, the police effectively use the water canon etc to fight against the unarmed protesters.

What did they do wrong? Are they in the same category with the long-unsolved street crime?

It was just a rally.

And the police treatment didn't happen the same for another group, who's in support of ISA.


At the same time, Raja Petra's website was hacked as well.


And most importantly, while over 200 people were arrested, the police still can't figure out who murdered Teoh Beng Hock.

What a way to demonstrate "People First, Performance Now" for 1Malaysia.

Ha, yesterday I was very fond of Emily's wig, that I took several photo with it.(or her?)
