Many of the people are afraid of the superior.

Yes of course you need to give them respect.

(It doesn't mean you don't need to respect your subordinate.)

Most importantly, you have to understand that your superior still needs to:

1) Queue up when paying at the counter
2) Shit like all of us do.

Just the same human, after all.
